BQ25720是一款同步NVDC降压-升压电池充电控制器,可从多种输入电源(包括USB适配器、高压USB-C电源和传统适配器)为1至4芯电池充电。

NVDC配置允许根据电池电压对系统进行调节,但不会低于系统最低电压。即使电池完全放电或取出,系统也会继续运行。当负载功率超过输入电源额定值时,电池进入补充模式,防止系统崩溃。

在上电期间,充电器根据输入源和电池条件将转换器设置为降压、升压或降压-升压配置。该充电器无需主机控制即可在降压、升压和降压-升压工作模式之间无缝转换。

在没有输入源的情况下,BQ25720支持1至4芯电池的USB On-The-Go(OTG)功能,以在VBUS上产生可调的3 V至24 V输出,分辨率为8 mV。OTG输出电压转换速率可以配置为符合USB-PD 3.0 PPS规范。

当只有电池为系统供电且USB OTG端口没有连接外部负载时,BQ25720实现了最新的英特尔Vmin主动保护(VAP)功能,在该功能中,设备对电池的VBUS电压进行充电,以在输入去耦电容器中存储一些能量。在系统峰值功率峰值期间,存储在输入电容器中的能量会补充系统,以防止系统电压降至最小系统电压以下而导致系统崩溃。

BQ25720监控适配器电流、电池电流和系统电源。灵活编程的PROCHOT输出在需要时直接进入中央处理器进行节流。

最新版本的USB-C PD规范包括快速角色互换(FRS),以确保电源角色互换及时发生,从而使连接到底座的设备(S)可以避免短暂断电或故障。该器件集成了符合PD规范的FR。

TI专利的开关频率抖动模式可显著降低整个传导EMI频率范围(150 kHz至30 MHz)的EMI噪声。多种抖动比例选项可为不同应用提供灵活性,以简化EMI噪声过滤器设计。

充电器可在TI专利的直通模式(PTM)下运行,以提高全负载范围内的效率。在PTM中,输入功率直接通过充电器传递到系统。BQ25720采用32针4 mm×4 mm WQFN封装,可节省MOSFET的开关损耗和电感铁芯损耗,实现高效运行。
